Entering our 19th year, Grand Haven Triathlon & Duathlon enjoyed a 22% increase over 2021 and we're excited to expand on that for 2023 . Grand Haven, Michigan (aka: Coast Guard City, USA) has received numerous awards as a great place to vacation and reside. These awards include:

​Grand Haven Triathlon & Duathlon is the perfect place for a destination event. In addition to a wonderful vacation destination for participants, family and friends, you'll enjoy swimming in the clear waters of Lake Michigan, alongside the State Park beach, THE smoothest and most scenic bike course in the Midwest and THE most scenic run course on the City Boardwalk along the City riverfront. 

This event is embraced and supported by the City of Grand Haven and all its departments (Public Safety, Parks & Recreation and DPW), Ottawa County Sheriff Marine and Road Patrol Divisions, Ottawa County Road Commission, U.S. Coast Guard, Michigan DNR, various non-profit organizations, 200+ volunteers, sponsors and local residents cheering you all the way. The venue and courses are approved and will be ready for you on race day. Participants have numerous options to race. These include:

  • Sprint Triathlon:       500 meter swim / 20 K bike / 5 K run
  • Sprint Duathlon:      5 K run / 20 K bike / 5 K run
  • Olympic Triathlon:   1500 meter swim / 40 K bike / 10 K run
  • Olympic Duathlon:   5 K run / 40 K bike / 10 K run
  • Relay teams are welcomed for any of the events: Male / Female / Co - Ed 

In addition to one of, if not THE most scenic venues, some of the amenities you'll receive include a quality "Dri-Fit" tech shirt, neck gator with event logo, custom swim cap with event logo, custom "Finisher" medal, overall and age group awards.
